THE DOWNTOWNER: Introducing The Dog Stop®

PITTSBURGH, MAY 6 2014 – Jesse Coslov and Chris Kane started The Dog Stop® with the goal of becoming the consummate dog care resource. The Dog Stop® offers dog owners nearly everything they could ever need: a competitively priced retail store, grooming services, and overnight boarding and daycare.

“We do everything under the sun in terms of caring for your dogs,” Kane said. “People’s time is valuable, so we decided to bring everything into one place.”

Coslov and Kane started the company in 2009 as the only employees, which has now grown to a staff of over 60. Their plan to continue expansion presently includes negotiations to sell two more franchises in the Pittsburgh area. Its first franchise in Emsworth, Pa. will open in July.

The Dog Stop®’s Strip District location, 2530 Smallman St., offers a convenient location for Downtown dog owners. There are also locations in the East End and South Hills.

In an effort to further meet the dog care needs of Downtown, The Dog Stop® and the PDCDC are teaming up to create a pickup and delivery service centered around a few conveniently placed bus stops in the Downtown area. These bus stops will allow The Dog Stop® to make retail deliveries and also pick up dogs for daycare and boarding, greatly simplifying both processes.

The pickup and delivery service will also enable The Dog Stop® to begin walking services, which will be a great way for your dog to remain active and healthy while you’re away.

The owners of The Dog Stop® have a very clear message for the residents of Downtown: “We’re going to do anything we can to make it easier for you.”
