I have been training dogs professionally since 2005.  My education began at Triple Crown Academy (Starmark Academy) for Professional Dog Trainers, where I completed the Canine Training & Behavior Specialist Program.  The curriculum ranged from basic canine learning theory and puppy imprinting to advanced competitive obedience training, agility, schutzhund, and search and rescue.  From February 2006 until November 2015 I was employed by a full-service pet care facility.  My responsibilities were many as General Manager and Director of Training.  I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers. I am a professional member in good standing of the APDT, as well.

I have trained dogs for competitive obedience, therapy dogs international (TDI) examination, and service dogs for individuals with autism and PTSD.  I attend several continuing education seminars annually to keep up with industry information.  My main goal is to help people to have well-behaved dogs in all life situations and achieve harmonious relationships through mutual understanding.  I am a practical trainer above all else.  I utilize reward-based training and believe in setting dogs up for success.  Dog training is not an exact science, although science is heavily involved.  A technique that works well with one dog may not work at all with another, so being well-versed in many methodologies is one of my strengths.  As co-founder and corporate trainer for The Dog Stop Training, I conduct private lessons, group classes, and oversee the training and behavioral well-being of dogs here for daycare or boarding.
